MADONNA ANNOUNCES 'SWEET AND STICKY' TOUR
Madonna has officially announced a tour in support of her new hit album Hard Candy. Billboard.com reported on Thursday (May 8th) that the superstar will hit the road on August 23rd in Cardiff, Wales and play between 50 and 60 shows around the world for what will be billed as the Sweet and Sticky tour. "I'm thrilled to be involved in another worldwide Madonna extravaganza," Arthur Fogel of Live Nation told Billboard. The upcoming tour is the first major sign of the 10-year deal Madonna recently signed with the company, reportedly worth $120 million. Fogel says ticket prices will be "basically the same as they've been the past two tours," which would mean they'd range from $55-$350. Last month, British tabloid The Sun reported that Madonna will receive $25 million dollars to play two shows in Dubai later this year. It was rumored that one of the shows, for which she'd receive $15 million, is part her tour, while the other is a private party. A source told the paper that the private event would be the first in her career, and would fetch the superstar $10 million. Only the dates for Sweet and Sticky's European and North American stops have been announced so far, and are as follows.
